My Story
I thought I had done everything right
As a nurse and public health professional, I'd built what I thought was a near-perfect foundation. Whole food nutrition. Strategic supplementation. Sleep optimization. Stress management. Strength training. I had done the work for years — and my lab work wasn't just normal, it was optimal.
And still, there were gaps I couldn't explain. Stubborn body composition that didn't match my effort. Recovery that lagged behind my training. Energy that dipped in the afternoons. A sense that something in my system wasn't quite firing the way it should.
The foundation was solid. But something was still missing.
That's when I fell deep into the research on GLP-1/GIP microdosing — not through social media, but through the primary literature. I spent months in the research before I ever considered trying it personally. What I kept finding was compelling: at lower doses, these hormones do something different than at weight-loss doses. They support metabolic signaling, reduce low-grade inflammation, and help the body respond the way it was designed to — especially for people already doing the foundational work.
I started a supervised protocol through EllieMD — board-certified providers, 503A compounding pharmacy, proper intake, ongoing monitoring. The kind of approach I'd recommend to any of my own clients. Eighteen pounds later, with noticeably better energy, clearer thinking, and workouts that actually feel productive again — I'm sharing what I found.
What personally changed for me
Energy through the day
No need for that second cup of coffee. My energy improved and my usual afternoon crash slipped away. This was a huge win — being more present with my family when I would normally be drained.
The food noise went quiet
The constant mental loop around food — the planning, the cravings — got dramatically quieter. Just because something was "available," I didn't feel the need to eat it.
Body composition shifted
Eighteen pounds down on a microdose protocol. My workouts started to feel productive again in a way that matched my effort.
Mental clarity returned
My mom brain reactivated. I became less forgetful, more present, and less stressed about decision making.
Inflammation softened
The general puffiness and bloating I experienced regularly dramatically diminished in the first 6 weeks, and my joint mobility and general recovery post-workout improved.
I feel like myself again
My confidence has improved and I feel better about my body and how I show up every day. I traded my goals of "someday" to "now" — and my only regret is waiting this long to do it.
